CFA Society Vancouver, in partnership with Mink Learning, hosted a comprehensive 2-Day Private Equity Bootcamp in Vancouver, Canada, on December 3rd and 4th, 2025. Led by Steve Balaban, CFA, the program brought finance professionals together for two highly interactive days of discussions, real-world case studies, and practical private equity training.
Throughout the bootcamp, participants:
1. Explored private equity fundamentals, including direct investing, co-investments, and fund strategies through real-world examples.
2. Worked through the complete private equity investment lifecycle, from deal sourcing and due diligence to value creation and exit.
3. Discussed current market developments and practical investment scenarios alongside fellow finance professionals.
The learning continued beyond the classroom as attendees joined the Mink Learning team for dinner after the bootcamp, marking the beginning of what has since grown into a vibrant private equity community in Vancouver.
